Speech Therapy– Treat children with a variety of communication delays or disorders in the areas of receptive and expressive language, articulation, fluency, voice, swallowing and related disabilities.
Occupational Therapy– Includes services to address the functional needs of an infant or toddler related to adaptive development and behavior. They address activities of daily living including eating, dressing and sleep. Occupational Therapists assist with social participation and education including fine motor, pre-literacy, play, sensory, motor and postural development to improve the child’s functional ability to perform tasks in the home, school and community settings.
Physical Therapy– Helps improve your child’s coordination and balance in the home, outdoor and pay environments. they address gross motor skills, such as stability and truck control, rolling, sitting, crawling and walking. They also work on the transitional movements from one static position to another. A PT may also assist in making recommendations for adaptive equipment.
Special Instruction– The design of learning environments and activities that promote the infant’s or toddler’s acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas, including cognitive processes and social interaction.
Counseling– Services include addressing social-emotional development, behavioral concerns or emotional problems which may impact the child’s ability to learn.
Parent Training and Counseling– Services to assist the family in understanding the needs of their child and enhancing the child’s development. The provider can help parents acquire skills in a variety of developmental domains, such as using assistive technology or addressing negative behaviors.
Feeding– Assessment and treatment, using evidence based practices for infants and toddlers with feeding or nutrition concerns. Services provided by an Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist can address issues such as, limited or poor oral intake, inadequate weight gain, suspected swallowing disorders, choking or gagging, lack of appetite, oral sensitivity or difficulties chewing. Our experts can also address feeding concerns related to anxiety, food refusal or sensory concerns.
Assistive Technology– Equipment and services used to assist an infant or toddler to participate in activities, such as communicating, eating or moving. Assisting in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device.
Applied Behavior Analysis– The scientific application of behavioral interventions that are based on principles of learning and motivation. Research demonstrates this is the most effective treatment for Autism and can be utilized to increase a wide variety of skills and decrease challenging behaviors.
Music Therapy– Children will engage in individually tailored musical play and song with your child’s developmental needs in mind. Because of the unique way in which music is processed in the brain, music can be used to increase speech and language, attention and behavior, cognitive and motor functioning and socialization skills.
